Award winning hair and beauty photographer, David Greensmith is based in Hampshire, UK. With a portable studio setup his work takes him across the United Kingdom to shoot with stylist and salons of varying experience. From award winning stylists to new stylists, David enjoys the challenge of helping them to realise their ideas.
Working within clients salons is great for the stylists as their equipment is available at hand. He also loves the challenge of shooting on location. David’s style has a flexibility that comes with experience. Clients have described his work as Glossy, eye catching and creative.
Most of David’s work is shooting images for hair competition and PR purposes. These images have helped his clients achieve their personal goals.
Planning and realising hair photography is a challenge. David offers his experience in helping with all facets of this shoot process. From identifying and planning the shoot look to sourcing models.
Editing is something he is passionate about. His preference is to keep images looking authentic and not over edited. Many of his clients state this is one of the reasons for booking him. Whilst some editing is inevitable, David always tries to get the image perfect in camera.
As a photographer, David is always looking for new opportunities. Regularly seeking out new talent and testing with people to create new lighting setups. He looks for opportunities to encourage creativity. Recently setting up a Facebook group to connect Hair models with Stylists for Hair Photography.
David’s images have graced the pages of many publications including Hairdressers Journal, Professional Hairdresser, Hairstyles only, Good Salon Guide, Hair Magazine, and Vogue.
