Zebra Madness…

It’s been quite a journey to get to the Zebra shoot. The journey started back in 2013 with the Lionesses. That shoot was born out of the need to show what we could do as a team. The resulting images were some of the most striking I have ever created. From the moment the images were published on my website and social media, the team were asking what’s next. After some discussion we decide the safari/animal theme would be a good one to continue on. After a little discussion, Zebra were decided to be the next animal. Our planning was going great guns, until the team started to disperse. Our stylists moved, the make-up artist got pregnant. So the plans were put on hold.Towards the end of last year I decided it was time to get the ball rolling again. Our make-up artist was back and I was getting asked when it was going to happen. So we set a date and I looked to draft in some new models and talent to help with the shoot.Returning was our Make-up Artist Rachael with the new face of Lee Williams. We had initially planned to have 7 models so more skills were required to keep the time and workload down. On hair once again was Tasha Ellen who drafted in skills of Sam Salkeld. Styling is where our plan broke down a bit. Nobody was available so I pulled up my sleeves for this with the help of one of our great models. Louise Croft. As with any creative shoot, there is a certain amount of waiting around for me. This was no exception, I was on hand to offer guidance on what I’d like but I really wanted the people involved to be able to let their creative minds go mad. We shot 8 different looks on three different backgrounds. White, Black and then a mash-up of both.My original idea was for the looks to be like post apocalyptic models inspired by Zebra colouring. I wanted them to look very urban. Check out the series of images we created.Credits:Makeup : Rachael Holmes & Lee WilliamsHair: Tasha Ellen & Sam SalkeldStyling: Louise Croft & David GreensmithModels: Kitty Underhill, Samantha Shapley, Poppy Louise & Louise CroftPhotography: Myself assisted by Kayla AndersonClothing: Scott Massey Couture, Bohoo.com & Thrifty Fashion sourced by Pauper to Princess
