On Saturday, I went to the Pumpkin Festival at the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley Abbey. I went along as the weather was stunning (and my mother wanted to go). I was impressed with how big the show was, and furthermore, the array of photo opportunities that I found. The festival is in aid of the Jubilee Sailing Trust, so the fun is all for a good cause. There were some massive pumpkins on display, one in fact filled the back of a transit van! With these monsters on display, I felt it would be wrong to not get some images of them!

David Loh was on hand to carve one of these giants! Making such a great job and at such speed, this work of art was incredible! What a spectacle, he had adults and kids spellbound with his skill and precision!

The giant pumpkins are hollowed out into boats after the show and raced the following weekend! Yes, that’s right. Boats! Another great spectacle!
